As the district’s K-3 Literacy Supervisor, I am responsible for observing classes and debriefing with principals in the seven elementary schools in order to offer support services to principals, teachers, and literacy coaches and to ensure the effective implementation of the K-3 ELA curriculum.
I am also responsible for the implementation of district literacy initiatives, such as the Accelerated Reader program, RIF Distributions, STAR testing and progress monitoring, school and district Reading Fairs, and school and district Spelling Bees.
I will work with teachers and other instructional personnel in the effective assessment of student learning and in the interpretation of data by developing, reviewing, and analyzing assessment data and making instructional adjustments based on that data.
I will also be active in implementing model classrooms, aiding in improving our elementary libraries, and planning and organizing quarterly K-3 literacy staff book reviews as set forth by the Kellogg Grant.
I look forward to being in your schools, taking part in your PLC’s, and providing any training necessary in regard to literacy-based instruction, assessment, and initiatives.
